Appointment cancellations, Lateness & No shows

We understand that life can get busy and unplanned things happen. We advise that if you are unable to attend your appointment, kindly contact the clinic to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before your appointment time.

If you are over 10 minutes late, we may ask you to wait till a spot is free before the doctor can see you.

Failure to show or cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a charge. If there are any concerns please speak with reception to discuss further.

Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in dismissal from the clinic, and you will cease to be a patient of our practice

Doctors Note

Please see a doctor as soon as possible on the first day of your illness especially if you anticipate that a sick note will be required by your employer.

We will NOT provide a sick note to cover any days of illness that cannot be evidenced.

Uninsured services

Certain services provided at our clinic are not covered by OHIP. A list of these services can be seen by clicking on the link below.

For more details about the cost of these services please contact the clinic reception

Appointment Scheduling and Times

While we strive to maintain our appointment schedule, unforeseen situations may occasionally cause delays.

At the moment we only offer in-person appointments.

To assist us in adhering to appointment times, please limit each appointment to one primary concern, as general appointments are allocated 10 minutes.

Arriving on time is crucial, and if you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to adjust the schedule to accommodate other patients. Please inform the front staff about the purpose of your appointment. Note that a fee is applicable for no-show, missed appointments or late appointments

Completion of forms

Please ensure timely submission of forms/documents requiring the doctor’s attention, allowing a minimum of 1 week before the due date.

Note that specific forms may require additional processing time, and you can verify waiting times through the reception.

You are required to book an appointment when submitting or collecting forms for the doctor’s review.

Some form incur fees as thay are not be covered by OHIP. Click to see which forms are not covered

Zero tolerance for abuse

At Drella Medical Clinic, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all patients, staff, and visitors.

We have a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any form of verbal abuse, threats, harassment, or physical aggression toward staff or others. Any such behaviour will result in immediate dismissal from the clinic, and you will cease to be a patient of our practice. We thank you for helping us maintain a caring and professional healthcare setting.

Prescriptions

We treat prescription refills request as an opportunity to do a medication review on your health conditions and put in place repeat supplies for a time period and only offer in-patient appointments for this.

So for prescription refills book an in-person appointment with the doctor.

There is an administrative fee for prescriptions sent to the pharmacy without an appointment. Click for more information.

If you urgently need medication and no appointments are available, please call the clinic to discuss your options.

Feel free to inquire at the reception about our updated policy on opioid prescriptions.
